Galle Fort: A Journey Through Colonial History
Galle Fort is the historic heart of the destination and one of the finest surviving examples of a fortified colonial town in South and Southeast Asia. The Portuguese established early fortifications in the late 16th century, and the Dutch later developed the extensive defensive walls and bastions that define the fort today.
Now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort remains a living town where historic architecture, religious landmarks, boutique hotels, independent shops, cafés and local residences coexist.

Two days: Explore the Fort, spend time at the beaches and visit Koggala Lake.
